  • The Principal Content Management Consultant - Informatics plays a lead role in driving innovation in the organization, collaborating with the VP, Medical Informatics and cross-functional teams (a) to help identify, prototype, and define requirements for novel products and (b) to help refine existing products with a focus on patient safety and alert optimization.
  • In addition, this individual will possess proven clinical and analytical skills as well as the ability to work collaboratively with cross functional teams and global customers.
  • This position focuses on our Medi-Span drug data solution.
  • LOCATION: Indianapolis IN (preferred) or remote U.S. locations considered
  • Represents Wolters Kluwer Health in a positive, professional, and customer-focused manner.
  • Treats fellow employees and customers in a Fair, Honest, Responsive, and Results-Oriented manner.
  • Regularly collaborates with the VP of Medical Informatics and other departments to drive innovation in the organization.
  • This includes generating ideas, soliciting customer input, developing prototypes, and providing input for final product design from a clinical as well as an informatics perspective.
  • Works with customers to obtain usage data and analyzes aggregated data for product improvement purposes.
  • Authors and maintains clinical decision support rules for use in advanced clinical decision support software.
  • Reviews existing proprietary data models and helps suggest improvements.
  • Supports clinical quality team with their ongoing clinical data analysis and quality control activities related to proprietary drug content and clinical decision support software.
  • Identifies, documents, and reports omissions or errors in the data.
  • Identifies, documents, and reports unexpected results generated by clinical decision support software.
  • In conjunction with other team members, assesses the criticality and priority of identified issues.
  • Assists Clinical Content team with ad hoc clinical data analysis and troubleshooting.
  • Maintains a high degree of job knowledge and subject matter expertise via review of the medical and healthcare information technology literature and other activities as assigned.
  • Actively develops and/or maintains clinical expertise with the express purpose of translating this expertise into improving clinical content.
  • Continually develops and refines knowledge of database, clinical decision support applications, and rules-based logic.
  • Forms strategic relationships with clinical and standards organizations as well as the EMR industry, which enables tracking and monitoring of industry trends and market requirements.
  • Maintains a close familiarity with applicable products and representations of data on all relevant platforms to help further improve the utility of the content and databases.
  • Applies expert knowledge of relational database concepts coupled with logic to facilitate transactional use of data in vendor applications or use of information in other Wolters Kluwer product lines.
  • Provides a high level of customer service by offering customer and client support on an as needed basis.
  • Responds in a timely and accurate manner to inquiries regarding clinical drug information and/or product data.
  • Participates in conference calls with external customers to clarify clinical content issues or expected data outcomes for new and existing implementations.
  • Achieves productivity by consistently meeting deadlines as defined by project plans and regular data updates as well as by meeting departmental and individual goals.
  • Supports ongoing departmental operations
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD or equivalent) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) required or equivalent, relevant experience
  • Formal informatics training (e.g., MS/PhD degree) and/or Clinical Informatics Board Certification required
  • Thorough knowledge of Health IT standards, such as FHIR and CDS Hooks (required)
  • Thorough understanding of HIPAA (required)
  • Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • At least 5 years' recent experience in Health IT
  • Medical or Pharmacist license from any U.S. State in good standing (required)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in written and verbal communications skills (required)
  • Ability to write computer code in any programming language (required)
  • Thorough knowledge of databases, data models and query languages (required)
  • Proficiency working with computerized drug compendia and clinical decision support applications/data (required)
  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Ability to "self-motivate" and multi-task in a fast-paced, high growth environment
  • TRAVEL: Up to 25% of occasional travel mostly for internal business meetings, client meetings, and to attend conferences (post-Covid restrictions).
