Responsibilities Journeyman - Typically 3 years and above documented field experience in chosen craft discipline with ability to read and interpret instructions and document, plan and perform work activities independently. <ul><li>Selects type and size of pipe and related materials and equipment, such as supports, hangers, and hydraulic cylinders, according to job specifications.</li><li>Inspects worksite to determine presence of obstructions.</li><li>Plans sequence on installation to avoid obstructions and activities of other workers.</li><li>Cuts pipe using hacksaw, pipe cutter, hammer and chisel, cutting torch and pipe cutting machine.</li><li>Threads pipe using threading machine.</li><li>Bends pipe by hand or with pipe-bending tools and machine.</li><li>Mounts pipe hangers and brackets on walls and ceiling to hold pipe.</li><li>Assembles and installs a variety of metal or nonmetal pipes and pipe fittings, using threaded caulked, soldering, brazen, fused, or cemented joints, and hand tools.</li><li>Secures pipes to structure with bracket, clamps, and hangers, using hand and power tools.</li><li>Test piping systems for leaks by increasing pressure in pipes and observing gauges attached to pipes for indication of leaks.</li><li>Loads, transports and unloads material, tools, equipment and supplies.</li><li>May assist in lifting, positioning and securing of material and work pieces during installation.</li><li>Performs minor maintenance of cleaning activities of tools and equipment.</li><li>Respiratory protection is common and may be required.</li><li>Responsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rules. Perform other duties as required.</li><li>Use effective verbal and written communication skills.</li><li>Be capable of listening and communicating with other supervision and employees.</li><li>Be motivated and work safely and productively.</li><li>Understand and respond accordingly to all safety alerts, warnings, hazards, etc. </li></ul>Qualifications Journeyman - Typically 3 years and above documented field experience in chosen craft discipline with ability to read and interpret instructions and document, plan and perform work activities independently. <ul><li>May be required to lift and carry items weighing no more than 50 pounds.</li><li>Must possess enough strength and stamina to perform the technical duties and essential functions as identified above.</li><li>Must be able to move in and around confined and uneven areas.</li><li>Must have full range of motion consistent with age.</li><li>May be required consistently to work 12 hour shifts performing construction based labor in varying temperature extremes and conditions.</li><li>May be required, on occasion, to work up to 16 hours in a single shift.</li><li>Must be able to climb and maintain balance on stairs, ladders, scaffolds and steel framework.</li><li>Must be able to adequately hear and respond to voice commands and alerts from other employees, alarms, and other job related noises.</li><li>Visual acuity, depth perception and color discrimination consistent with that required to work at heights and on uneven surfaces.</li><li>Must be able to perform the following actions to the frequency stated:</li></ul>
