  • Minimum requirement is having a college degree, 1-3 years of financial service experience and familiarity with defined benefit and defined contribution pension plans preferred.
  • Duties and responsibilities:?
  • Answer telephone calls from participants requesting information on retirement, accrued benefits, possible death benefits, withdrawal benefits and explanation of Plan rules.
  • Prepare and review pension applications (i.e., Basic, Supplemental or both).
  • Meet with participants/beneficiaries regarding benefits.
  • Review (retirement/post-retirement/death) applications for completeness and contact participant/beneficiary if information is missing.
  • Set up and review electronic funds transfers for monthly benefits.
  • Review Supplemental Account report on an annual basis to determine whether benefits are payable on deceased participant accounts.
  • Coordinate with Eligibility Department on benefit recipients who have automatic deduction taken from monthly check to pay for medical premiums.
  • Coordinate with Authenticity Coordinator and Pension Manager to determine effect of adjustment of contributions on pension benefits.
  • Respond to benefit recipient request regarding lost checks; forward request to reissue payment to Department Assistant for handling.
  • Review electronic funds transfer (EFT) from bank; contact participant and/or financial institution to determine why transfer was rejected.
  • Calculate annual Basic Plan post retirement OBRA benefits.
  • Monitor Ten Year Certain beneficiary payment expirations.
  • Stable company with room for growth.
  • Hours are 8:30am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday.
