  • The Center for Gastroenterology, Endocrinology, & Nutrition Innovation (GENI), a joint entity within Emory University School of Medicine and Childrens Healthcare of Atlanta, invites applications for a tenure-potential position at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor level, researching the broad role of metabolic health on well-being in children (MD and/or PhD required).
  • Areas of particular interest include addressing obesity, early risk stratification and identification of noninvasive markers and therapeutic targets, novel molecular and clinical diagnostics, workable interventions in childhood with a focus on socioeconomically disadvantaged populations, fatty liver disease, type 2 diabetes, and a variety of important disorders in gastroenterology, hepatology, and/or endocrinology where metabolites play a significant role in pathophysiology and outcomes.
  • Approaches that capitalize on translational research, pediatric technologies, animal models, pediatrician/community engagement, and bioinformatics such as metabolomics, lipidomics, and genomics are encouraged.
  • The candidate will be expected to develop an innovative, externally funded research program, as well as engage in cross-disciplinary initiatives.
  • Faculty appointment will be in the Department of Pediatrics within Emory University School of Medicine.
