- The Respiratory Therapist Lead is a health care professional who is a graduate of a Program in Respiratory Care approved by the committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC), is licensed by the State of Connecticut as a Respiratory Care Practitioner and is recognized by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
- The Respiratory Therapist Lead is a role model mentor and expert resource to Level I, II and III therapists, and also actively supports and serves as a resource to other members of the patient care team.
- Demonstrates proficiency and consistency with all assessment skills, including interpretation of x-ray and blood gases, RAW, CL graphic displays, etc.
- Completion of Respiratory Care Program approved by Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) and current license by the State of Connecticut as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
- Minimum of 5 years as an RRT in Critical Care, Pediatric or Neonatal settings with at least 2 years at YNHS as an RT III. RTs with pervious leadership experience but less than 2 years' experience as an RT III at YNHS may be considered as determined by the respiratory therapy leadership team.
