Job Summary/Description: WKYT in beautiful Lexington, Kentucky is looking for a dynamic producer for its award-winning news department. Our producers create, lead, and organize content for the highest-rated newscasts in the market utilizing strong editorial, journalistic, organizational, and communication skills. Duties/Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): - Create and showcase on-air content utilizing strong editorial, journalistic, organizational, and communication skills - Work closely with news managers, assignment editors, and weather and sports and weather departments in determining content needs and how to most effectively deliver on those needs - Writing clearly for multiple platforms on tight deadlines demonstrating creativity and strong editorial judgment while following journalistic ethics and libel laws - Create significant, original, locally-focused stories for WKYT's digital platforms - Create engaging content on Facebook, Twitter, and other social media platforms that draws viewers to our digital platforms Qualifications/Requirements: •The successful applicant's background must include, at minimum, a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism or a related field.
