- Performs all the functions of a Medical Assistant I Med Grp such as preparing and rooming the patient, clinical integration focus, performing laboratory procedures, assisting the Physician/Advanced Practice Clinician (APC) with procedures and administering routine medications, under Physician/Advanced Practice Clinician (APC) orders or medical group approved standing order/protocol.
- Refers questions to Registered Nurse and Physicians/APC per scope of practice guidelines and relays information back to patient as directed.
- Communicates with Physician/APC and other members of the health care team to ensure smooth clinic flow and adjusts as necessary.
- Performs basic and advanced clinical tasks or skills based on the specialty skills and competencies such as but not limited to removal of sutures and staples, audiograms, laboratory procedures (throat/nose culture, drug screen), phlebotomy - butterfly, venous heel stick, EKG, spirometry, Holter monitor application, prescription refills using approved protocols, etc., under clinical supervision.
- Medical Assistant (CMA) certification issued by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), or
