- Through home visits, the Massage Therapist provides Massage Therapy to patients under the Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) Waiver.
- The Massage Therapist is responsible for identifying, assessing, planning and implementing appropriate massage care plan for waiver patients to improve muscle tone, circulation, range of motion and address physical symptoms related to their illness.
- The Massage Therapist will also provide physical and emotional comfort, pain management and restore the idea of healthy touch for children/youth who are dealing with treatments that may involve painful interventions.
- Functions as additional resource for other members of the palliative care team as needed via consultation and educational offerings.
- Ensures each patient is assessed and that treatment given is evaluated using evidence-based practice, including improvement of muscle tone, circulation, range of motion, and physical symptoms related to their illness.
