  • Description: Special Operations Forces Global Logistics Support Services (SOF GLSS) line of business is growing and has some exciting work going on at our site in Fort Walton Beach, Florida which specializes in Fixed Wing Aviation support, to include C-130, CV-22, and MQ-9 aircraft maintenance.
  • Presently we are looking for an Aircraft Mechanic II to join our team.
  • The Aircraft Mechanic II troubleshoots malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, pneudraulic, engines, auxiliary power unit, and ventilation and heating systems.
  • This mechanic repairs, replaces, and rebuilds aircraft structures, such as wings and fuselage, and functional components including rigging, surface controls, using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brake, welding equipment, rivet gun, and drills.
  • This worker reads and interprets manufacturers and airlines maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
  • This mechanic services, repairs, and overhauls aircraft and aircraft engines to ensure airworthiness.
  • Job requirements: must have a thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting, repair procedures and replacement of parts, requires broad knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications and repair, must have basic knowledge of electrical theory, must have thorough knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers.
  • This job requires working knowledge of technical publications.
  • The incumbent receives technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician, will occasionally be required to lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks, and may be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records.
  • Must be able to prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects.
  • This position is on a modification team, travel CONUS and OCONUS required.

  • Panama City, FL is about 1.5 hours to the east.
  • Must have a minimum of 6 years structural maintenance experience.
  • This mechanic must have a thorough knowledge of aircraft structural and mechanical systems and must be able to apply knowledge to solve moderate to complex problems or malfunctions.
  • The candidate must be able to interpret technical orders, blueprints, or other written guidance to accomplish repairs, replacement or modification of structural components.
  • Ability to travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations.
  • Active U.S. Passport
  • Ability to obtain a secret security clearance, and must have an interim secret clearance prior to start so therefore all candidates must be a US Citizen.
  • Heavy structures modification experience
  • C-130 and C-130J experience
  • Composite repair training/experience
  • Active DoD Security Clearance
