- The Student Wellness Advocate, Licensed Therapist under supervision of the Dean of Students will provide short-term individual counseling, crisis management, and group counseling services.
- Works closely with a Case Management Coordinator and the Clinical Case Manager to connect students with additional support services when deemed necessary and appropriate.
- Assist members of JJC's Behavioral and Threat Assessment Team and Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT) to provide psychological/behavioral perspective and consultative support as needed.
- Provide confidential support to students reporting Title IX or sexual violence occurrences.
- Develop, implement, and maintain on-going mental health outreach efforts, including such topics as: sexual assault and prevention, suicide prevention, LGBTQIA issues, substance abuse, and work with underrepresented student populations, including but not limited to Latino, African American, LGBTQIA, and international students.
