- The Lead Radiation Physicist in Radiation Oncology is responsible for providing leadership in clinical or other practice areas within the Medical Physics group to help Chief Physicist in department operations.
- This includes specification and acquisition of all radiation generating equipment, calibration of the treatment machines and acquisition and maintenance of all dosimetry and health-physics equipment.
- Reviews OSU radiation treatment charts, initiates, and manages departmental clinical developmental projects for new treatments and instructs personnel in principles and regulations related to radiation therapy physics, dosimetry and radiation protection.
- Under supervision of the Chief Physicist, provides clinical leadership in professional medical physics services at the Department of Radiation Oncology (or its outreach/affiliates) of the Medical Center.
- Leads and performs pre-clinical and clinical innovation and development of advanced and novel treatment technologies, including Complex Radiation Therapy procedures, SRS/SRT/SBRT, Brachytherapy, Proton Therapy, and FLASH Therapy.
