  • To perform advanced inventory and cost accounting work in order to ensure accurately reported inventory balances, as well as correctly stated cost breakdown in the income statement.
  • Ensure that inventory and cost controls are maintained across all disciplines of the manufacturing environment in order to aid management in timely decision making.
  • · Work with Engineering and Operations functions to ensure that Bill of Materials are complete and all part numbers receive cost appropriately
  • · Review and assign cost to part numbers
  • · Monitor ‘missing cost’ reports to ensure control of all active part numbers in order to maintain accuracy of inventory balances
  • · Roll-forward and reconcile General Ledger vs Inventory Register to ensure alignment in financial statements
  • · Review results of cycle counts with Operations and ensure implementation of necessary countermeasures.
  • · Perform inventory related month end GL journal entries and other tasks as required.
  • · Provide accounting leadership for annual physical inventory count.
  • · Assist with cost estimates required by Sales and Engineering functions for new business opportunities.
  • · Prepares and reviews income/expense activity to analyze ‘actual vs standard’ costs.
  • · Works with finance counterparts to prepare and update transfer prices when necessary.
  • Performs and directs special projects as requested.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting.
  • CPA or Master’s degree highly regarded but not required.
  • Ideally 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably all or some of this in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with reconciling or maintaining inventory and costs in a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of Cost Accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
  • ERP systems experience preferred, any exposure to Microsoft Dynamics (NAV or 365) would be highly regarded but not mandatory.
  • Medium to advanced Excel skillset, and high level of comfort with large volumes of data.
  • Comfortable with working across business functions and explaining ‘financial concepts’ to ‘non-financial’ staff members.
