- Sidwell Friends is seeking a part time Intervention Specialist to join our Lower School Student Support Team and work with students in grades 1-3.
- The successful candidate should find joy and purpose in working with elementary-aged children, take an asset-based approach to student support and have a strong background in working with neurodivergent learners.
- The Intervention Specialist should have experience supporting students with dyslexia, dysgraphia and dyscalculia, as well experience supporting students for whom attention or anxiety impact their learning.
- Candidates should use an evidence-based approach to supporting student learning and be comfortable using and interpreting a range of screeners and diagnostic assessments to guide instruction and to track the efficacy of our interventions.
- A deep knowledge of Orton Gillingham (or a similar evidence based approach to structured literacy interventions) is essential.
