  • About the team and positionThe Associate General Manager is responsible for the overall performance of 3 or more reconditioning lines.
  • This person leads up to 125 associates in a lean manufacturing environment.
  • The Associate General Manager maintains a culture of continuous improvement and high associate engagement while ensuring that production lines meet quality, efficiency, and cost objectives.
  • We're looking for driven and committed individuals who will develop their skills to assume leadership roles within our new and exisiting Inspection Center locations across the US. Ideal candidates for this position will be interested in pursuing a career in a fast-paced production environment and demonstrate strong leadership capability.
  • What you'll be doingProduction Management
  • Plan production for a full working shift or multiple reconditioning lines within the inspection Center (IC)
  • Manage reconditioning line capacity to meet current and future demands
  • Participate in weekly performance reviews of each area and report online performance
  • Identify problems impacting a specific line or overall IC performance
  • Prioritize problems, allocate resources, and resolve issues
  • Ensure operating standards are upheld
  • Monitor and maintain compliance with all health, safety and loss prevention guidelinesPeople Management
  • Participate in the recruiting and hiring process
  • Develop a pipeline of associates to fill future openings
  • Maintain a bench of candidates for each leadership position
  • Provide progression-path training and certification processes
  • Provide competency-based feedback and ensure managers and team leads throughout the IC are also providing appropriate feedback
  • Mentor Reconditioning ManagersLeadership
  • Lead planning and provide input to the overall strategy and management of the location
  • Create positive relationships across the facility and the organization
  • Model effective teamwork and encourage collaboration at all levels of the organization
  • Provide leadership on the shop floor and communicate constantly with area managers and leads
  • Positively challenge and engage the team to improve quality and efficiency

  • Champion continuous improvement, allocate resources judiciously and hold the team accountable for results
  • Participate in and lead continuous improvement efforts
  • Train and mentor Reconditioning Managers on problem-solving

  • Minimum of 8 years of management experience either in an automotive or lean manufacturing environment
  • Experience leading a team of over 50 associates and a track record of developing employees
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and expected operating metrics
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to develop strong teams and achieve results
  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities

  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • A clean driving record with no more than two moving violations or DUI's in the last three years
  • The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside, potentially in hot/cold temperatures or severe weather
  • Will be required to use protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials
  • May be requested to work non-standard hours and/or weekends for special programs and events
  • Lift up to 40 pounds frequently
  • Walk up to three miles each day
