  • USSIC operates through appointed agents throughout the United States, and is headquartered in Plano, Texas.
  • The second business unit is Avemco Insurance Company, headquartered in Frederick, MD, who is the only direct writer of aircraft insurance in the market.
  • Avemco has been protecting pilots and airplane owners for more than 55 years.
  • Avemco specializes in liability and hull coverage for single and multi-engine piston-powered land and seaplanes, gliders, experimental aircraft, certified flight instructors, renters, flying clubs and aircraft traders.
  • Overview:In this hands-on role as Human Resources Manager, you will work closely with the senior management team for this key business unit.
  • You will act as a strategic business partner in the execution of human resources (HR) programs and policies, including but not limited to talent selection and management, employee relations, employee development, change management and performance management.
  • You will also provide visible HR leadership to multiple locations in various states through your interaction with all levels of employees and management within the business.
  • Our service delivery model is an HR Business Partner working closely with Corporate Centers of Expertise.
  • You can expect up to 25% domestic travel based on the need (depending on your physical location).
  • This individual will report to the Corporate Human Resource Director and can be based in Dallas, Plano or Houston, Texas.
  • Talent: Lead the Talent Management activities of the Aviation Business Unit, including selection, annual talent reviews, and succession planning activities for all areas of the organization.
  • Employee Relations: Establish good working relationships with managers and employees with both the corporate and regional offices.
  • Address issues and concerns promptly, and conduct investigations to resolve conflicts when necessary.
  • Employment Development: Partner with managers and Corporate HR Learning and Development to identify development opportunities and training programs to ensure growth opportunities for employees.
  • Workforce Planning: Assist with the continual process to align staffing needs to meet current and future organizational objectives.
  • Performance Management: Work collaboratively with managers towards achieving employee's individual goals and objectives, which includes managing the performance review process, performance improvement, and professional development plans.
  • HR Data Analysis: Analyze complex HR data such as turnover trends and compensation equity and propose strategies to breach the gap between actual and desired organizational performance.
  • Quickly familiarize yourself with TMHCC's business and HR policies and procedures to include Employee Handbook, business policies, and internal practices.
  • Learn the business unit's CEO & President's expectations regarding Human Resources support to this business.
  • Understand their department's role in the organization
  • Identify their most significant HR concerns and challenges
  • Obtain their department head's expectations from HR
  • Establish a timetable for next stepsQualifications
  • Ideally, the successful candidate will bring significant HR experience and accomplishment in a sophisticated and well-developed Human Resources function.
  • Strong experience in HR fundamentals, including understanding of EEO laws and conflict resolution.
  • Proven experience in recruiting and employee relations.
  • Previous experience working in a matrix reporting organizational structure.
  • Insurance / Financial Services industry experience preferred.
  • Experience with Business Transformations/Change Management and acquisition due diligence and integration.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least a Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in HR or a related field or its equivalent in education and/or experience.
