  • Job OverviewAs our Hiring Specialist you will partner with hiring managers and the rest of the People Operation's team to find top talent.
  • You will work with all types of positions company-wide to create an exceptional experience for our hiring managers and applicants.
  • You'll also get to personally know all new team members by working with them from the interviewing process all the way through onboarding!
  • The position will require extreme organization as you will be juggling multiple postings at once along with ensuring all pre-employment paperwork and testing is completed.
  • Lots of postings means lots of partners.
  • You'll be working with several hiring managers at one time so being flexible in your communication is a must.
  • Being able to move from one thing to the next without missing a beat is a skill you must master.
  • You will also need to be innovative - There's a lot of competition out there and we need to make Speedway Motors stand out as a top employer!

  • Partner with hiring managers and business partners to understand the needs for their team and create personalized job postings to recruit top talent.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with colleagues, managers and applicants.
  • Post jobs on internal and external websites.
  • Screen applicants based on their qualifications.
  • Play a part in the interview process by suggesting interview questions, setting up interviews, and participating in the interviews themselves.
  • Work with hiring managers to create talent pipelines and build collaborative relationships with area schools, trade programs, and more.
  • Attend career fairs as well as participating in college outreach such as mock interviews, networking events, etc.
  • Post/share jobs/content on social media outlets.
  • Maintain a database and contact with potential team members.
  • Create an exceptional new hire experience by conducting new hire orientations and sending pre-onboarding materials.
  • Ensure all pre-employment testing is completed prior to start date.
  • Stay connected with the new hires after onboarding to ensure they don't have any additional questions.

  • In March of last year, we moved the majority of our office roles to full time work-from-home to protect our workforce and their families.
  • This role does require some in person days (especially during the first few weeks of training) as you would staff the People Operations office on a rotating basis.
  • When you're not in the office, you would be working from home.
  • At least one year of experience in a hiring role.
  • Experience with recruitment.
  • Excellent soft skills and communication skills.
  • Passion for customer service.
  • Ability to balance multiple projects and the demands of a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong verbal and written interpersonal skills to communicate professionally and effectively with co-workers and leaders across multiple departments.
  • Ability to work independently, be self-motivated, and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
  • Three years of experience in creating job advertisements, interviewing, and onboarding.
  • Experience with BambooHR.
  • Experience in customer service.
  • Experience and education above and beyond the minimum qualifications will be considered when determining pay.
