  • Smashing Boxes is looking for a creative Front-End Engineer in the D.C. area with a knack for problem solving and a love of bleeding-edge web technology.
  • You will work as part of an agile, cross-discipline team to create usable, accessible, semantic user interfaces for championing open source in the government.
  • The ideal candidate, in addition to being proficient in the relevant languages and techniques, is engaged in the web community and aware of current trends, and shares a passion for open source.
  • The role gives a lot of autonomy and decision making power—ideas are often shared, built, and deployed to production in under a week.
  • Requirements 6+ years' experience preferred
  • Candidate must be located in D.C.
  • Position requires public trust security clearance.
  • Background check required.
  • Available for project duration - 9 months with potential 1 year extension
  • Angular 2+ experience required
  • Experience with one or more of Webpack, RxJS, Karma, Jasmine, TypeScript, and SASS preferred
  • Knowledge of React, Node.js, Express, Postgres, Elasticsearch, GitHub API, Travis CI, and Cloud Foundry a plus
  • Passion for open source a bonus!
