  • Job Description Salary: Department: Fitness Qualifications: Bachelor degree in Exercise Science or related health/fitness field required.
  • Prior work experience or internship in the fitness industry preferred.
  • Certification as an ACSM Health/Fitness instructor preferred.
  • Prior work experience or internship in the health and fitness industry preferably in a medically oriented specialty such as: athletic training, cardiac rehabilitation, dietetics or physical therapy preferred.
  • The ability to be flexible and accommodating as it relates to scheduling appointments for the members.
  • CPR and AED certification required.
  • Personal Training Coordinator/Fitness Manager Position Purpose/General Summary To provide members/clients an individual training program that is tailored to the needs, wants and desires of each client; based on their health history, test results and fitness goals.
  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assess client's needs by performing an evaluation of their strength, flexibility, posture and cardiovascular Develop a personal training program based on assessment results, the client's personal goals, their health history and any medical conditions Establish and appropriately progress client-training programs taking their medical history and conditions into consideration.
  • Develop a client base; schedule and maintain Attend at least one industry conference per year and keep certifications Present both staff and member training sessions on a rotating basis with new material or a review of current literature and trends.
  • Send out personal training surveys to members who have completed their training Keep status on clients who are about to expire and send notices to remind them of their training package Respond to member comment cards within 48 hours Interrelationships: Members, guests, co-workers, clinical staff, students and patients.
  • Prior work experience or internship in the health and fitness industry preferably in a medically oriented specialty such as: athletic training, cardiac rehabilitation, dietetics or physical therapy.
