  • The Board of Trustees of The Neon Museum in Las Vegas, NV is seeking an engaging, imaginative, inspiring, and fiscally responsible leader with a vision for its place in the future of cultural arts in Southern Nevada and the surrounding world.
  • This position will serve as the driver of the Museum s vision and strategy at a critical time, and during a major capital campaign.
  • We seek an executive with the proven ability to lead us forward in the post-pandemic era.
  • Effective leadership will require the personal and professional capacity to guide our value proposition, revenue model, workforce model, and our approach to diversity, equity, accessibility and inclusion (DEAI), among other issues.
  • The Executive Director will report directly to the Board of Trustees and serve as a liaison between Trustees and staff.
  • In addition to serving as the leading spokesperson, strategic visionary and chief fundraiser of the organization, the Executive Director will oversee all aspects of general operations, including curation, collections, exhibitions, events, programs, visitor services and retail sales, as well as the management of workforce, visitor and educational services, finances, physical facilities, marketing, technology, public relations and community engagement.
  • The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to successfully: Broaden audiences, visitation and visibility, and advance the Museum s role and brand as a special and unique experience locally, nationally and globally.
  • Diversify and bolster the Museum s revenue streams and expand on them to ensure financial sustainability.
  • Initiate and undertake fundraising activities and advance donor relationships, including the development and oversight of critical strategies and campaigns.
  • Create collaborative and innovative partnerships and programming, and nurture positive community relationships.
  • Recruit, develop, and lead a high-functioning and empowered team.
  • Commit to DEAI as core values and set the tone for a safe and trusting culture that lives up to such a commitment.
  • Ensure that strategic objectives are collectively agreed upon, effectively implemented, and attained in a fiscally responsible manner.
  • Inspire volunteers, partner organizations, the community, governments and visitors to become champions of the organization.
  • Assume fiduciary responsibility with with resourcefulness, sound and ethical judgment, and accountability to budget and agreed-upon financial goals.
