- Duties include, but are not limited to development and implementation of the Upstate ergonomics program, providing direct support to the healthcare safe patient handling program, participation in the hazardous materials and waste program, performing occupational, environmental and fire safety risk assessments and inspections, developing and performing safety training and supporting the overall environmental health and safety programs at Upstate.
- The Ergonomist/Environmental Health and Safety Officer will also investigate and respond to health and safety concerns and coordinate corrective actions, perform safety inspections to ensure regulatory compliance and assess for hazardous conditions, and recommend remedial action as necessary.
- In addition, the Ergonomist/Environmental Health and Safety Officer will prepare required regulatory and compliance reports related to internal and external audits (DNV, PESH, NYSDEC, etc.)
