  • We are searching for an experienced leader to join our IAF team as a Safety Department Manager ("Environmental, Health and Safety Manager").
  • This is new created position that will be tasked with leading safety team and initiatives, as well as advising the company leadership to continually improve the work environment and policies to protect the team and minimize risk.

  • What we’ll do together.
  • This position reports directly to the Vice President of Human Resources.
  • The role leads the safety team in carrying out all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Provides technical knowledge and expertise in the operation and support of the institutional health and safety programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and national guidelines.
  • Work will include: Regular predictable attendance with the ability to a flexible schedule when needed Create, design and implement company-wide safety strategy to reduce safety incidents and attain company safety related goals.
  • Develop, implement and coordinate safety programs.
  • Analyze accident, near miss, and safety concerns data to recommend proactive solutions to reduce the frequency and severity of accidents.
  • Provide technical assistance companywide to all departments on safety.
  • Conduct periodic surveys and inspections of facilities and equipment to comply with code requirements, identify safety hazards, prevent accidents, and conserve company property.
  • Develop and deliver safety-training company with to all Team Members.
  • Consult with managers on the existence, utilization and/or operation of personal safety equipment and procedures, noise abatement equipment and procedures, material and safety data sheets, hazardous chemical correction and safety and health programs.
  • Determines the magnitude of exposure or nuisance to workers and the public; selects and devises methods and instruments suitable for measurements; studies and tests materials associated with the work operation.
  • Interprets occupational safety and health laws, rules and regulations; determines compliance with safety and health laws; holds conferences with management to discuss identified violations and/or deficiencies and recommends corrections.
  • Reviews company safety and health programs required by OSHA. Help other departments as necessary.
  • Creates departmental goals to support company goals Leads by example by embodying the Aoyama way of Wisdom, Creativity and Respect for Humanity.

  • What you’ll need.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university; 7 – 10 years’ related experience.
  • The combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Experience in the areas of safety, environmental compliance, training and a familiarity with environmental control.
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards.
  • Good knowledge of environmental standards.
  • Must have great communication skills both verbally and written.
  • Must be proficient in Word, Excel and data presentation.
