  • PRIMARY DUTY: Northwest Missouri State University-Kansas City is seeking candidates to create a pool of applicants that can serve as an adjunct.
  • Courses are taught in the fall, spring, and summer in a seven-week, blended format in the Kansas City metropolitan area.
  • Adjuncts will be responsible for teaching the course curriculum developed and managed by the campus faculty.
  • Blended courses must utilize the Northwest Online course management system for a portion of the course delivery.
  • Northwest-Kansas City is seeking applicants that can serve as adjuncts in Technical/Professional Writing.
  • Candidates who have experience teaching professional or technical communication who do not have MA or concentration in writing studies will also be considered.
  • Certification/License: Experience: Prior teaching experience teaching professional or technical writing Skills: Demonstrated innovative teaching methodologies to engage learners; instructional technology skills; interpersonal skills, including oral communication and collaboration; committed to a focus on student success PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: PhD in Writing Studies, or English with a writing concentration, with experience teaching professional or technical writing.
  • Candidates who have experience teaching professional or technical communication who do not have PhD, or concentration in writing studies will also be considered.
  • The 90,000 square-foot research and education complex is designed to create synergies for K-12 programming while attracting business partners and students from the Kansas City metro and regional area.
  • Programs will be offered at the Northwest-Kansas City include bachelor completion programs for community college graduates as well as graduate programs in education.
  • Due to the Northwest/Gladstone/NKCS partnership, individuals in Kansas City have the unique opportunity to access a Northwest education in a metropolitan area.
  • The Northwest-Kansas City Per Course Faculty will serve as a bridge between the main campus in Maryville and the students of the greater Kansas City area.
  • UNIVERSITY: With an enrollment of about 7,100 students, Northwest is a coeducational, primarily residential four-year university that offers a broad range of undergraduate and selected graduate programs on its Maryville campus as well as its location at the Northland Innovation Center and through Northwest Online.
