  • Eaton’s Electrical Engineering Services & Systems is currently seeking an Electrical Project Manager.
  • This position will be supporting our Strategic Account Operations team.
  • This position requires 75% travel.
  • Candidates need to reside close to an airport in one of the northeast, central, or western US regions listed, for frequent travel.
  • Eaton's Electrical Services & Systems team offers a comprehensive portfolio of services tailored for every stage of a power system’s life cycle—whether it’s design, build, or support.
  • Our services integrate and optimize the elements of a power system to make sure it’s aligned with business goals.
  • We can help keep your power system safe, efficient, reliable, and up-to-date.
  • This position reports into the Strategic Account Operations (SAO) team and works remotely near an airport to facilitate travel to Strategic Account client facilities.
  • The primary function is to provide local District Operating Centers (DOCs) with the technical, logistics and planning support necessary to ensure consistent service delivery for multi-region strategic accounts.
  • The initial focus for this role will be supporting proposals, preparation, execution and post-outage reviews for electrical system maintenance at commercial distribution centers across the United States.
  • Making what matters work at Eaton takes the passion of every employee around the world.
  • We create an environment where creativity, invention and discovery become reality, each and every day.
  • It’s where bold, bright professionals like you can reach your full potential—and where you can help us reach ours.
  • Each Electrical Power Systems Project Manager acts as a liaison between the Technical Program Manager who owns the client relationship and is chartered to grow a specific strategic account and the local DOC operations team who owns the execution of the scope of work.
  • The SAO Lead works in close collaboration with the SAO Specialist who is responsible for developing and deploying standard processes and systems (aka “the playbook”) to drive quality and operational efficiencies.
  • There will be a team of SAO Leads who work together to provide coverage for fleet-level programs and the size of the team will be dependent on the volume of work, pace of the program and complexity of the scope of work.
  • Review of job-specific scope of work to identify deviations from the standard work performed by the DOC operations team and the electrical contractor (EC)
  • Review the job-specific drawings to determine if the drawing package is sufficient to perform the scope of work.
  • If not, then provide a request for information to the client to complete the drawing package.
  • Work with DOC operations team to schedule the site walk including client specific requirements for site access
  • Schedule and hold a technical review of the job-specific scope of work with the applicable DOC operations team in preparation for the site walk and upcoming outage
  • Following the site walk, review the data and pictures collected by the DOC operations team to identify materials needed for the outage (e.g. shunt trips, breaker close coils)
  • Work directly with distributors / suppliers to find needed materials for the DOC operations team to purchase.
  • Some materials will require expediting due to long material lead times and tight job schedules.
  • Following the site walk, perform a technical review of Eaton’s proposal to the client to ensure the proposal matches the job-specific scope of work, the EC’s quote and the findings from the site walk
  • Follow the procurement-to-receipt of needed materials by the DOC and request-to-receipt of necessary electrical permits by the EC to ensure the job-specific schedule remains on-track
  • Facilitate response to DOC operations team questions regarding the scope of work, client expectations and/or the playbook
  • Work with the client (who is responsible for the utility interface) to gather information requested by the DOC operations team as they complete the lockout-tagout and hazardous energy control plans
  • Support virtual meetings hosted by the client prior to the outage to ensure alignment in scope and expectations between the client’s local site team and Eaton’s local DOC operations team
  • Travel to and be present at client outages to provide direct communication of progress to the client; the SAO Lead is not expected to perform tools-in-hand work during the outage.
  • Communicate critical issues identified during the outage to the client within one calendar day of the outage date
  • Follow the completion of the post-outage job report, review the report for consistency and quality, and submit the completed report to the client
  • Support continuous improvement of program in lessons learned reviews and causal analyses
  • When we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we — as individuals and as a company — are stronger.

  • Professional Engineer qualification
  • Working knowledge of NERC/FERC, NESC, NEC, ANSI, NETA
  • Minimum 5 years of electrical industry related application engineering
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication/presentation skills
  • Submit to periodic customer required background and drug screenings.
