  • It houses an advanced technological infrastructure encompassing a digital design and modeling department, multiple paint booths, high resolution five axis CNC machines, 3D Printing, 3D scanning, and high precision water jet cutting services.
  • Walla Walla Foundry was recently featured in the New York Times and described by artist Jim Dine as an extension of the artist's hand.
  • The EHS Coordinator will work under general direction of Foundry management to coordinate policies and programs to improve the safety of Foundry employees and to achieve compliance with federal and state laws.
  • Support and contribute to the Foundry's continually evolving safety system
  • Conduct monthly facility-wide safety audits, prepare notes for distribution, assure that all identified issues are resolved
  • Coordinate purchase, recordkeeping and distribution of PPE and safety supplies, including respirators
  • Coordinate handling of all hazardous waste, including safe disposal and accurate record keeping for reporting
  • Ensure timely entry of chemicals into correct database(s).
  • Prepare accurate reports, in advance of deadlines, for review and submittal to appropriate agencies
  • Maintain thorough, accurate and current chemical and product documentation, including SDSs maintained on Google drive
  • Administer online Safety training and processes associated with annual training requirements to include hearing tests, respirator fit checks, annual physicals scheduling and annual emergency drills
  • Facilitate new hire onboarding and annual safety trainings; maintain training documentation
  • Assist with the coordination of monthly safety committee meetings, safety notes and information sharing
  • Coordinate recurring safety maintenance activities including fire extinguisher review and first aid kit restock
  • Initiate work orders to address safety and maintenance issues; track completion/resolution
  • Administer or coordinate medical attention for any injured employee.
  • Participate in accident investigations, root cause analysis and resolutions
  • Be a visible safety resource for employees and contractors, assisting with questions and helping to address concerns or questions in a proactive, friendly, and timely manner
  • Assist with administrative support, data entry, process documentation and training help
  • May serve as back-up for other Foundry functions such as Purchasing and year-end inventory
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Possess and maintain a current knowledge of EHS laws and regulations—maintain working knowledge of Foundry policies and procedures to meet or exceed requirements.
  • Be willing to ask for help or seek additional information when an answer is unknown.
  • Be open to additional education and growth
  • Collaborate with other Foundry and external resources including HR Manager, COO, President, Project Managers, Safety Committee representatives and employees to influence and achieve positive safety results
  • Possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Be detail-oriented; deliver quality reports, documents and information that facilitates forward progress while meeting deadlines
  • Approach work in an organized, purposeful manner; able to work independently and able to take direction from others, balancing and responding to changing requests and priorities
  • Be solutions oriented, not just a problem identifier
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA/WISHA regulations
  • Experience with environmental compliance and HazCom
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office Suite and data entry
  • This position spends a lot of time in the manufacturing environment which can be loud, dirty, dusty and/or have swings in temperatures.
  • Must be able climb stairs and ladders.
  • PPE required and worn daily includes ear protection, safety glasses/goggles, sturdy work boots.
  • This is on onsite position (remote work is not an option).
  • Regular Foundry working hours are 7 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
  • Additional work time/overtime beyond these hours, depending on project load may be required.
  • Foundry offers a comprehensive benefits package, including 100% paid employee health/vision, paid time off and 401k with match.
