  • Reporting to the VP of Engineering, Financial Products, the Director of Engineering, Financial Products is a senior managerial role with considerable autonomy and scope.
  • This leader will build and lead a new engineering team with end-to-end ownership of one or more of the technical capabilities that SunPower needs to offer a proprietary suite of world-class financial products.
  • Financial Products serves four main customer types - consumers, dealers, home builders, and investors - each with its own unique financial needs.
  • The role is responsible for technologies foundational to our loan, lease, and power purchase agreement offerings.
  • Automation and data science are core to our strategy in every aspect of the customer experience: sales and marketing; application and underwriting workflows; loan/lease management; ongoing servicing, customer support and collections; compliance and regulatory reporting; investor reporting and asset transfer workflows.
  • The Director of Engineering will also work with IoT teams at SunPower to develop innovative ways of integrating panel-level output data across the SunPower fleet into our financial offerings and overall customer experience.
  • This role requires actively hiring and developing technical talent, working closely with product management to define strategy and requirements, and leading development teams from concept through delivery and subsequent operation.
  • This position involves regular communication with senior management on technical development, product strategy, status, and risks.
