Job Requirements EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited Registered Nurse program; Completion of an accredited Nurse Anesthesia program; Completion of preparation at the master’s or doctoral level in a nursing specialty. A master’s degree or higher is not required if: <ul><li>National certification in anesthesia and licensure in Tennessee as a registered nurse was obtained prior to July 1, 2005; or</li><li>National certification in anesthesia and licensure as a registered nurse with the multi-state licensure privilege to practice in Tennessee was obtained prior to July 2, 2005 and</li><li>Awaiting initial certification or maintenance of continuous certification as a CRNA by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA). </li></ul>LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION: Current and unrestricted APN CRNA and RN licensure in the State of Tennessee, DEA, board certification through the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA), and current malpractice coverage. An original typed AHA BLS Card is also required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Constant walking, standing; lifting and positioning patients/equipment; exposure to infectious agents. Visual acuity is needed to access color changes. Heavy Work - Exerting up to 150 pounds of force occasionally.
