Our Engineering Design Organization (EDO) is looking for an engaged, capable individual who is committed to continuous improvement to tackle the role of Intermediate Instrumentation & Controls Engineer based out of one of our Southern California offices: Irvine, Long Beach, or San Diego.

Strong working knowledge of P&ID’s, instrumentation and control systems design (PLC/PAC/RTU/DCS/HMI/SCADA), networking, process automation, etc. Develop detailed engineering packages to represent installation requirements for process control systems and instrumentation.

Experience with HMI software, ABB DCS, Modicon PLC hardware and programming, medium and low-voltage electrical systems, and motor control design is a plus. This Engineer position is in the Design Division's workgroup that is assigned to electrical, instrumentation and controls design for OC San's wastewater treatment plants and facilities, with a specific focus on instrumentation and controls and related project commissioning.

As an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer and Project Manager you have the opportunity to assist in delivering cutting edge automation services to our clients. We'll ask you to use your working knowledge of various SCADA system hardware and software, which includes Industrial Control System (ICS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), and Human Machine Interface (HMI), to effectively design and implement instrumentation and control systems for large water/wastewater projects.

About the Position In this position, you will apply your knowledge of the principles of electrical & control systems design to: Lead the development of industrial construction drawings, including single line diagrams, area classification diagrams, grounding, lighting, conduit/cable tray, schematics and wiring diagrams, cable/conduit schedules, installation details, PLC panel layout and I/O schematics, loop diagrams and control system architecture.

The purpose of the Systems Engineer is to design, build and test the system-level behavior of the medical devices we are developing. Familiar with test equipment and lab instrumentation.

Develop control systems for RNG fueling facilities, including compressor controls, dispensing controls, ESD, data communication, fuel management systems and SCADA.

Certified Siemens, Horner and/ or Allen Bradley PLC programmer preferred. Work with engineering team to develop electrical, instrumentation and controls products and systems to satisfy unique customer specifications, contracts, and new business development.
