  • Job Summary The Compensation & Benefits Specialist will report to the Director of HR Operations and will be responsible for managing the compensation, benefits and recognition for the company.
  • This position will partner with the Shared Service, Payroll, and HRIS teams.
  • Manage the relationship with the benefit s broker to ensure the benefits are market competitive and cost efficient
  • Create and manage wellness initiatives
  • Look for ways to improve and streamline processes so the department operates efficiently
  • Ensure functionality of Workday system meets the needs of the business
  • Manage compensation programs, including job evaluation and grading, market pricing, survey participation, annual pay and bonus delivery and other compliance reporting
  • Manage recognition and incentive programs across the company
  • Design and deliver employee communications, surveys and information sessions with a view to improving education and engagement on total rewards at SMS Assist
  • Manage all day-to-day vendor interactions, including the resolution of issues and continuously improving the plan member experience and the effectiveness of plan administration
  • Work collaboratively as part of the broader HR team, ensuring common priorities and projects are delivered
  • Reviews job descriptions for accurate and consistent content and conducts job evaluations for new and revised positions to determine salary band
  • Lead the annual benefits renewal process; implement benefit plan design changes, enhancements and new programs; coordinate open enrollment, testing and systems configuration
  • Partner with Payroll to conduct routine audits of all benefit plans; reconcile issues and ensure eligibility, deductions, premiums and compensation are accurate
  • Assists with day-to-day operations of group benefit programs and helping employees with escalated inquires, for programs such as, group health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, flexible spending plan, 401(k) plan, etc.
  • Keeps apprised of statutory law changes, through webinars and networking activities, that could affect compensation and benefit programs and assist with ensuring company compliance
  • Prepare ad-hoc reports and participate in total rewards related projects
  • Perform ad-hoc projects and other duties as assigned

  • Qualifications Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor s Degree required
  • 2-5 years of experience in benefits and compensation
  • In depth knowledge of Workday
  • Other Relevant Qualifications
  • PHR or SPHR certification
