Responsibilities JOB SUMMARY Demonstrates extensive knowledge of ultrasonography imaging techniques to assist the radiologist in successfully diagnosing and treating the patient's condition.
ACCOUNTABILITIES ESSENTIAL Utilizes innovative customer service techniques to provide a positive patient care experience for the patient and their family.
Acts professionally in all dealings with internal and external customers to promote a working environment that focuses on the patient experience and not operational rivalries or roadblocks to care.
Performs a variety of complex specialized tasks utilizing ultrasonic high frequency sound waves to detect abnormalities including masses, abscesses, and stones.
Performs ultrasound procedures, color doppler vascular examinations, abdominal studies and color-flow ultrasound, Ob-Gyn procedures as required.
Assists physicians with biopsy procedures, guiding biopsy instrument using sonographic techniques.
Establishes and maintains lines of communication with all other staff members and radiologist to ensure an effective and harmonious working environment.
Communicates effectively with patients and their families about the procedure to be performed in order to obtain information and to offer reassurance.
OTHER Performs other duties as assigned to meet the organization`s needs.
Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS Education Required: Formal training program after high school Preferred: Associate degree or equivalent Major Required: Ultrasonography Preferred: Ultrasonography Experience Required: 1-2 years Preferred: 2-3 years Skills Required: Average ultrasonography skill Preferred: Advanced ultrasonography skill set Licensure/Certifications Required: Applicants must be registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
