  • The Commercial Solar Technician II in the PEARCE Renewables Solar Division performs tasks involving physical labor at solar energy projects.
  • DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Travel overnight in support of the company.
  • (Up to 100% travel.)
  • Have 3 years' suitable employment experience; High aptitude and a strong work ethic are critical.
  • Be exposed to ambient temperatures while working outdoors.
  • Conduct maintenance of equipment (fueling, lubrication, etc.)
  • Lift and move equipment as needed (up to 50 pounds)
  • Work at heights of 9' - 50' and must be able to demonstrate proper use of ladders.
  • Operate and maintain solar power plants in accordance with established standards and procedures; always maintain safety and professionalism
  • Troubleshoot system problems and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Provide a working knowledge of troubleshooting electrical components with help and use of digital multi-meters, meggers, amp clamps, and similar equipment.
  • Tests installed equipment, ensuring proper working order including daily mechanical electrical inspections.
  • Responsible for documentation including, but not limited to the following: work orders, service orders, time logs, and emergency information schedules.
  • Maintain inventory control of assigned equipment to ensure adequate stock levels.
  • Maintain high quality control on provided tools, vehicles, and materials.
  • Train, mentor, and develop laborers into apprentices.
  • Partner with Pearce to ensure continuing education to meet safety and plant requirements.
  • Employment may require working on weekends and holidays, including an "on call" service availability via telephone/text message.
  • Operate a motor vehicle safely and legally per the PEARCE Renewables Employee Handbook and insurance requirements.
  • Maintain PEARCE Renewables company vehicle so that it is always clean, presentable, functional.
