The CNC machinist loads parts in the machine, cycles machine, and detects malfunction machine operations such as worn or damaged cutting tools.. Performs all assigned machine shop operations.. Regularly performs milling, turning, drilling, tapping, de-burring, sawing and sanding tasks.. PURPOSE OF POSITION<br/>The CNC machinist operates computer numerical control machines to fabricate parts. The CNC machinist loads parts in the machine, cycles machine, and detects malfunction machine operations such as worn or damaged cutting tools. The position runs production lots, communicated with co-workers regarding production runs, and maintains a safe, organized, and clean work environment.<br/>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES<br/><ul><li>Performs all assigned machine shop operations. </li><li>Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to management or designee. </li><li>Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows prescribes safety procedures. </li><li>Regularly performs milling, turning, drilling, tapping, de-burring, sawing and sanding tasks. </li><li>Performs inspection of machined products, and documents results. </li><li>Complete and maintains paperwork for parts. </li><li>Assists in the other work areas to perform fabrication, lay-up, infiltrations, furnace operations, and sand blasting tasks. </li></ul>Requirements<br/>QUALIFICATIONS <ul><li>Good attendance. </li><li>Effective communication skills. </li><li>Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision. </li><li>Communication proficiency. </li><li>Mathematical skills. </li><li>Mechanical capacity. </li><li>Technical capacity. </li><li>Time management. </li></ul>EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE <ul><li>High School Diploma or equivalent. </li><li>3-5 years of experience with CNC machines. </li> </ul>
