- Job DescriptionA structural engineer is responsible for designing any kind of structure so that it can fulfil a specific purpose, and remain safe, economic and functioning throughout its intended lifetime.
- Structural engineering is about investigating both the immediate loads and demands on the structure, as well as any likely future changes, and ensuring a structure is designed to withstand those loads.
- Duties:Provide design and construction oversight of structural engineering tasks on assigned SRR Engineering Teams.
- Structural engineering tasks include: analysis of structural systems for both static and dynamic loads using manual computation and computer programs; design of concrete structures; design of steel, aluminium, stainless steel, timber and composite structures; foundation and anchorage design; structural analysis for impact, overpressure, and other accident conditions; preparation of CSI specifications; and review of vendor documents.
- Programmatic guidance will be provided by SRR.QualificationsEducation: BS Degree in Civil Engineering or current registration as a Professional Engineer in either Civil or Structural Engineering.
