- Works under indirect supervision of the Resource Technician performing daily activities of the Sterile Processing Department, which include all aspects of the decontamination, assembly of sets, sterilization processes, and specialty cart restocking (CPR carts, Disaster Carts, Case Carts and Specialty carts).
- The CSPDT must have knowledge of: surgical instrumentation in regards to identification, cleaning, inspecting, testing, packaging and sterilization, operation of mechanical equipment for instrument cleaning and sterilization, infection control practices and preventative measures and regulatory agencies the govern sterile processing practices.
- Work requires a High School diploma or equivalent and one to two years of previous work related experience.
- Certification required from a NJDOH recognized certification body such as CBSPD/ IAHCSMM. Completion and passing grade in an SPD training course or school is acceptable in lieu of one to two years job experience.
