To perform quality control construction observations for various highway roadway and bridge construction, general site work, maintenance and protection of traffic, drainage, earthwork, paving, concrete work, reinforcement steel placement, utility relocation work, coordination, and safety.

The employee will typically be assigned to NCDOT or other roadway and bridge construction projects. NCDOT/ACI Concrete Field Tech, Grade I. Due to our success, we need to continue adding resources to assist with the delivery of our anticipated workload which includes a variety of services associated with various infrastructure improvement projects for NCDOT (across all 14 Divisions) as well as numerous municipal, institutional, and private sector clients.

Collaborate with transportation staff to develop transportation projects including but not limited to roadway, bridge, rail, transportation planning, traffic control, signing, pavement marking, knowledge of hydraulic design, and preliminary design for environmental documents.

NCDOT Portland Cement Concrete Pavement. NCDOT QMS Roadway. NCDOT QMS Nuclear. NCDOT Level II Erosion & Sediment Control. NCDOT ABC Nuclear. May serve as a Lead Project Inspector performing general project oversight and communication with the contractor and NCDOT. Will be responsible for the supervision of lower-level technicians while providing guidance as needed.

Typical work will be on NCDOT bridge inspection and roadway inspection projects throughout the state of North Carolina. Experience working on bridge construction, construction of earth retaining structures (including reinforced concrete walls), gabion basket wall construction, MSE, RSS, mechanically stabilized earth wall, roadway excavation & fill, asphalt pavement, temporary traffic control implementation and maintenance of traffic, erosion and sedimentation control, and other miscellaneous heavy highway construction and related project inspection work.
