  • The Brand Director will play a key role in building the Sagamore Spirit brand; developing and implementing brand marketing plans and programs, driving both brand equity and commercial performance.
  • This role is responsible for the planning and execution of all marketing and trade activations, including the development and management of quarterly trade and retail programming for the on and off premise (POS, retailer specific programming, sampling, trade education/engagement tools).
  • This role will also be responsible for managing the annual brand budget as well as monthly brand/category business analytics/reviews.
  • The position will work directly with Trade Marketing, Sales, Finance, and external agencies to ensure the online programs are in line with overall brand strategy.
  • Report on monthly business/category performance and competitive analysis
  • Brand Director, responsible for the development of Sagamore Rye Whiskey marketing and brand strategy, annual planning process, and oversees the execution of its marketing programming and activations across all markets and channels in the U.S partnering with creative director and Trade Marketing
  • Development and Management of annual budget to ensure proper phasing, tracking, and reconciliation of marketing A&P.
  • This role works collaboratively with all key stakeholders to identify and build long-term connections with Sagamore’s core consumer - rooted in data-driven decision-making, leveraging business and consumer insights - and developing programming and creativity that builds equity and drives profitability
  • Provide clear strategic marketing direction to the Sagamore Sales team and other key stakeholders, and support the delivery of prioritized brand goals, objectives, and KPIs against Sagamore programming
  • Oversee the execution of all brand programs in collaboration with trade marketing, sales, creative director, and Dr. of Marketing Services
  • Manage and support the development of creative strategy with Creative Department
  • Clear understanding of market trends, consumer behavior, competitive landscape, product innovations, and category opportunities
  • Develop product expertise and a strong sense of market dynamics through training, market visits, and frequent customer interactions
  • Support the implementation of optimal allocation, pricing, mix, and channel strategies on Sagamore Spirit Rye Whiskey, in collaboration with trade marketing, Sales & Finance
  • Build and maintain successful relationships with agency business partners, distributors, and other third-party stakeholders to continually ensure their commitment to delivering Sagamore brand objectives
  • Foster innovation within the Brand and Commercial teams to build brand salience within the competitive environment.
  • Maintain a flexible and adaptable mindset by continually evaluating, revising, and responding with agility to meet rapidly evolving business needs and perform other functions and duties as assigned
  • Ensure on-time delivery of all programs and tools and sharing of relevant information with key stakeholders
  • Work cross-functionally and establish key relationships both internally and externally
  • Internal: US Brand Marketing, Global partners, US Trade Marketing, National Accounts, Sales and Field Activation Teams, Legal, Finance, Accounting
  • External: Agencies, Distributors, Retail Partners, and POS vendors
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • 5+ years’ experience in Beverage Alcohol Brand Marketing; spirits background experience mandatory
  • Experience developing and overseeing programming specifically for the on and off premise channels
  • Working with media agencies and media partners
  • Strong business analytics skills and data-driven mindset.
  • Experience using spirits data sources such as Nielsen, NABCA/DISCUS, IRI, IWSR a plus
  • Ability to develop a strategic and annual operating plan
  • Experience managing and tracking extensive brand budgets and collaborating with finance departments
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with key stakeholders, 3rd part agencies and vendors
  • Exceptional organizational skills and sharp attention to detail
  • High level of autonomy with the ability to anticipate opportunities and develop actionable solutions
  • Continuous Improvement mindset
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills including ability to develop methodologies and execute analysis independently, ability to quickly adapt and execute feedback, ability to identify actionable findings within analysis and develop recommendations.
  • Travel Requirements: Up to 30% of the time
