  • Section 2 Position Purpose
  • The Backhaul coordinator is responsible for the procurement of backhauls.
  • The Backhaul Manager will negotiate pricing, coordinating and scheduling of all backhauls.
  • The Backhaul Coordinator supervises the Backhaul drivers.
  • Section 3 Major Responsibilities
  • Coordinating and Scheduling Backhauls (60%)
  • Coordinate backhauls to be delivered.
  • Assist in coordinating all paperwork for pickups on a daily basis and the logistics for drivers.
  • Dispatch all equipment for the transportation department of DMID.
  • Responsible for monthly reports of backhaul.
  • Responsible for coordinating and scheduling of backhauls.
  • Supervise Backhaul Drivers
  • Record revenue from backhauls into Backhaul Tracker.
  • Responsible for monthly reporting.
  • Creates Liability and Cargo Insurance forms.
  • Negotiate Pricing (20%)
  • Preform research to the determination and procurement of all backhauls and price negotiations.
  • Miscellaneous ( 20%)
  • Create Invoice(s) for backhauls.
  • Handles complaints and issues brought forth by backhaul drivers.

  • Direct decision making required for procurement of backhauls, negotiating pricing, coordinating and scheduling of backhauls.

  • Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
  • Must be age 21 or over and have a minimum of 1 years' experience.
  • Must be forklift certified or have the ability to obtain forklift certification.
  • Must be willing to subject to pre-employment and random drug testing as a prerequisite of employment, because of the exposure to heavy equipment.
  • Excellent organizational, time-management and communication skills.
  • General knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Google docs preferred.
  • The ability to work well with others.

  • The ability to stand or sit for extensive periods of time.
  • The ability to bend over, reach upwards or outward, twist, turn around, and climb up on ladders in a timely fashion.

  • The ability to work in an environment with temperature fluctuations.

  • The ability to use equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, and product stacker efficiently and safely.
  • The ability to read, comprehend, and confirm product deliveries.
  • The ability to lift very heavy objects, up to 50 lbs., with or without assistance.
