  • The Syracuse University Sports Medicine Department is inviting applicants to apply for a newly created Athletic Trainer position.
  • The position will directly report to the Assistant Athletics Director for Sports Medicine.
  • Position will provide quality comprehensive care for student-athletes through prevention, evaluation, care and treatment of injuries and illnesses and assist with injury rehabilitation.
  • The successful candidate will serve as the certified athletic trainer for the women’s ice hockey team, including practice and game coverage as well as team travel.
  • Qualifications- A Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training or related field and completion of Master’s degree.
  • NATABOC certification is required along with New York State Athletic Trainer Certification or eligible.
  • Must have demonstrated knowledge of sports medicine standards of care, excellent organizational and supervisory skills, computer skills, strong communication skills, excellent self-motivation, strong commitment to professional growth and an interest in working in a comprehensive sports medicine environment.
  • Job Specific Qualifications- Strong preference will be given to candidates with experience as follows: A) 1-4 years of NCAA Division I or II athletic training experience post BOC certification B) candidates that can most effectively meet the progressive needs of the Syracuse University Sports Medicine Department.
