  • This position reports directly to the Executive Associate Dean, Medical Education and Student Affairs, School of MedicineThe Office of Student Success provides academic support, registration/student data support and financial aid assistance, career and counseling support services to MD program and five (5) Health Professions Programs in the school of medicine.
  • The Associate Dean of Student Success works closely with the Assistant Dean, Student Affairs and Clinical Services and the Associate Dean for Admissions and Student Affairs to provide optimal services and resources for medical students from the Foundation, Applications and Translation Phases of the MD curriculum.
  • Assistant Dean for IPE and Health Professions Program and the five Health Professions Program Directors to provide optimal servicesand resources to the students in all phases of their curriculum.
  • Associate Dean, Curriculum Design and Simulation Senior Associate Dean, Innovation and Translation Associate Dean, Medical Education UME
  • The Associate Dean of Student Success will be responsible for the development and organization of a student support office that fosters a safe, healthy and supportive learning environment for all students in the school of medicine.
  • Responsibilities include planning for and monitoring of the following areas for students in the MD program and the 5 Health Professions Programs: Student learning support and advising for all SOM studentso Tracking academic success of students and identifying resources to provide ongoing support (time management, study skills, test taking skills, etc.)
  • o Career advising services Student counseling and mental health services- internal and external providers The planning and execution of the recurring cycle of academic events including:o Incoming student orientationo Commencemento Student Award Ceremonies School of Medicine Financial Aid and Registrar Services Admissions Teams for the degree programs Progress and Promotions Title IX Office Liaison
  • An MD, PhD, or equivalent with leadership experiences in medical school student affairs are preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience Demonstrated creative communications and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with individuals in the medical academic community.
  • Excellent skills to work collaboratively and act deliberately in sensitive situations, skills in conflict management techniques.
  • Additional Professional Experience & Skills Demonstrated commitment to advance a culture of diversity and inclusion; ability to work with and support a diversified student body Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work with members of the academic and clinical community.
