  • Brailsford & Dunlavey is seeking a dynamic assistant project manager to support higher education and municipal projects across the county.
  • This position will be based out of Austin, TX and is a hybrid in-office / remote role with occasional travel required.

  • The assistant project manager will play a dynamic role within B&D's Collegiate Implementation Group (CIG) by focusing on pre-development and implementation responsibilities while supporting overall project management activities.
  • Supports Project Manager or Senior Project Manager with project start-up, development and management of multiple assignments within a higher education or municipal capital design and construction portfolio.
  • Serves as a client's trusted advisor.
  • Develops project goals for schedule, budget, quality, and analyses to ensure quality client advice.
  • Manages solicitation and procurement process for AE, CM, and third-party consultants.
  • Conducts design reviews and cost estimate reviews at design phase ends to ensure the project is advance in alignment with project objectives.
  • Evaluates project constructability and logistics plans, schedules, and sequencing.
  • Participates in OAC meetings and monitors the project for compliance with project goals and agreements during construction.
  • Collaborates with project teams in the successful planning, execution, and oversight of P3 projects.
  • Develops client deliverables, including written reports, presentations, budgets, schedules, and program, etc.
  • that are tailored to meet client's desired outcomes and scope requirements.
  • May perform quality control activities to ensure that team deliverables are error-free and delivered on time.
  • Participates in B&D's training opportunities and actively cultivates a knowledge base in a range of best practices and industry-specific methodologies (Higher Education/Design and Construction).
  • Participates in business development activities to include article writing, conference attendance, and prospective client tracking or follow up.
  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in architecture, construction management, engineering, or related field.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Availability to travel as needed.
  • Supplemental education in real estate, business, financing, or urban planning.
  • Preferred, but not required, licensed (or able to be licensed) architect or engineer in Texas.
  • In-depth understanding of the firm's project types, project management concepts and methodologies, and competitive advantages, as well as general industry knowledge.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to apply technological solutions to planning or implementation assignments.
  • Preferred, but not required, experience working with industry tools and references including estimating (RS Means or similar)and scheduling tools (MS Project or similar), CAD or BIM based programs, visual communication software (Bluebeam or similar), project tracking and document control software (Procore or similar).
  • Ability to be productive in a fast-paced, multi-dimensional work environment
