  • To learn more about our department, please visit our websites below: Residence Life Residential Curriculum CommUNITY Education Program Job SummaryDepartment-Specific Information:Recruits, selects, trains, and supervises three graduate assistants and 16 undergraduate staff in coordination with the Assistant Director Residential Life - Selection and Training.
  • Works to assess the CUE program and oversees the programs budget.
  • Works with the Associate Director Assistant Director Residential Life - Training to develop and present diversity and social justice training for full-time, graduate, and undergraduate staff.
  • Works on building cooperative relationships with campus partners in programming and advocating for underrepresented students.
  • Works with the Associate Director to plan and execute campus-wide sponsored events including the Civil Rights Immersion Trip, Conversations on Race, etc.
  • Provides leadership and department level oversight for the Residential Curriculum.
  • Serves as chair (or co-chair with an experienced in center staff member) of the Residential Curriculum committee.
  • General Responsibilities:Provides day-to-day operational management of residence life staff.
  • Establishes short-term operational objectives.
  • Identifies operational issues and/or areas of improvement and implements solutions to improve processes and/or operational efficiency.
  • Analyzes, monitors, and evaluates performance of assigned staff; establishes work priorities, conducts performance reviews, and provides corrective action as needed.
  • Ensures adequate staffing and effective scheduling; participates and informs employment decisions for assigned staff.
  • Provides direct supervision and oversight of assigned staff and activities; impacts, and is held accountable for, the performance of team and/or assigned staff.
  • Ensures and provides training to assigned staff to improve residence life operations; researches and identifies development opportunities for assigned staff.
  • Researches and stays up-to-date on new industry residence life standards, best practices, and emerging technology; keeps next-level leader(s) informed of trends as well as significant problems.
  • QualificationsEDUCATIONRequired Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Preferred Master's degree in higher education student affairs or a related field.
  • WORK EXPERIENCERequired 2 years of experience in residence life, higher education student affairs, or a related field.
  • Combinations of related education and experience may be considered.
