- Position Title Assistant/Associate Professor, Soil Science (Tenured-Track) Job Summary Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the area of Soil Sciences and Data Analytics (including statistics) and courses may vary depending on the needs of the department and students Essential Job Duties Establish and lead a nationally recognized, innovative, and extramurally funded research program that focuses on integrated agriculture systems with a focus on soils and plant-soil interactions.
- Develop an interdisciplinary, systems-based research program in soil and soil-plant interactions that directly addresses the areas of the Alabama and Black Belt region and beyond.
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the area of Soil Sciences and Data Analytics (including statistics) and courses may vary depending on the needs of the department and students.
- Preferred Qualifications Ph. D. in Soil Science, Agronomy, Environmental Science, or a related discipline with an emphasis in interdisciplinary and systems-based approaches to study agroecosystems.
- Research or practical experience working with more than one of the following: cover cropping, crop rotation, tillage, nutrient management, nutrient cycling (i.e., closed-loop systems to reduce off-farm inputs), soil-microbe nutrient relations.
