  • We’re excited to bring on board an API Business Development Manager who will build and maintain a sales funnel, achieve KPI and revenue targets, and can act as the voice of the customer communicating your insights and feedback from our users and partners, to help improve our product offering.
  • You will collaborate closely with the Customer Satisfaction Team, Marketing, Product, Design, Engineering, and Data Science teams to turn these insights into features that benefit our growing API user base.
  • Your mission is to be a driving force behind capturing market share for Octopart in the Data Services (API) offering across the electronic components ecosystem.
  • You will accomplish this by building relationships with our partners while leveraging direct sales strategies to create awareness of Octopart’s API. You will establish a clearly defined sales strategy for engaging prospective partners, earning their business, and supporting their implementation of our API.
  • Experience in large enterprise sales and the ability to identify the correct decision-makers for potential customers within.
  • 1-2 years minimum sales experience in the technology sector (preferably API licensing)
  • Must be resilient and tenacious with outreach
  • Refine the approach over time to optimize conversion rates based on analysis of results
  • Develop new API & embeddable business opportunities from internal and external leads
  • Experience in building mass email campaigns to generate qualified meetings and leads
  • Must have experience in email outreach software such as Salesforce/Hubspot, as well as databases, and experience with setting up successful sequences, tracking and monitoring outreach, and successfully retargeting potential leads
  • Identify partners and potential partners who would benefit from Octopart’s embeddable tools
  • Unearth new sales opportunities through networking and turn them into long-term partnerships
  • Develop and maintain a business funnel/pipeline of new API customers to achieve targets
  • Leverage the tools afforded you to deepen your understanding of the customer
  • Be empathetic to different personas within the supply chain, learning how to align our product offerings with their requirements
  • Create and maintain a business plan to facilitate the attainment of KPIs and revenue targets
  • Manage the entire sales cycle from finding a client to securing a deal, and after sales support
  • Present our value proposition to prospective clients
  • Practice diligence in regards to customer follow-up
  • Work with the Customer Satisfaction team to respond to complaints and resolving issues
  • Work with management to negotiate agreements/contracts, and keep records of all transactions in SalesForce
  • Heavy use of SalesForce, ensuring accuracy of all leads, opportunities, activities, forecasts, wins, and losses in the sales funnel
  • Stay abreast of current trends in the industry, particularly competitors and partners, by participating in educational opportunities & professional organizations
  • Align with manager to effectively define customer needs, and execute as a team
  • Partner with the marketing team to help create more leads
  • Align yourself with the product and data science team to provide VOC and help position Octopart/Nexar as a disruptor in our industry
  • Be regarded as an SME in digital strategy, particularly in the realm of API & embedded tools
  • Host and attend webinars as well as trade shows
  • Establish a deep understanding of the Octopart product offerings, internal processes, unique value proposition, pricing strategy, product features and competitive landscape.
  • Identify and prioritize the top prospective customers.
  • You will proactively engage prospective customers by setting, sharing, and executing a clear sales strategy as well as maintaining ongoing engagement with the current customer portfolio.
  • You will drive adoption and support the integration of the Octopart API and/or embedded tools within new accounts, whilst expanding existing partnerships.
  • You will support the ongoing enhancements of the Octopart/Nexar API by maintaining a communication loop and feedback cycle to share customer engagement findings with product, engineering, data science, business, and executives.
  • Drive growth in API click revenue to achieve corporate revenue goals through the acquisition of new accounts and maintaining/increasing revenue from existing API click customers.
  • Create manufacturer industry awareness and visibility for Octopart’s CAD Model & Data Services offerings through networking, direct engagement with established relationships, and working cross-functionally with the Octopart team to develop marketing assets and sales enablement collateral.
  • Continue to expand Octopart’s total market share for CAD Model and Data Services by working with Octopart leadership team to develop a high-cadence customer feedback loop to improve; understanding of the competitive landscape, pricing strategy, product features, and sales and marketing strategy.
  • You will achieve your KPI and revenue targets

  • You will seek out potential Nexar partners, to include those contributing data to our feed, those consuming data, and a combination thereof
