- The Advanced Nurse Practitioner (Psychiatry) is a Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with experience in mental health, substance abuse and family practice.
- Performs psychiatric evaluations for child, adolescent and adult diagnosis and treatment, supportive therapy, counseling and guidance; provide case management; prescribes psychotropic medications; supervises medication maintenance; determines continuation or discontinuation of the medication regime.
- Evaluates mental health status, current and past history of violence, suicidal or self-harm behavior, substance use, level of functioning, health behaviors, trauma, sexual behaviors and social and developmental history.
- Measles and Rubella immunization required for selectees born after 1957 and seasonal influenza immunization is required for all staff working in Indian Health Service health care facilities.
- Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social).
