  • Administrative Specialist - Wisdom TraditionsWe are searching for an experienced Administrative Specialist - Wisdom Traditions at our Arapahoe Campus facility.
  • The Administrative Specialist serves as the point of contact for requests for administrative assistance and is responsible for prioritizing and resolving these requests.
  • Position does require some flexibility with weekly working hours as some events that need support occasionally take place on weekends or evenings.
  • Job Duties & ResponsibilitiesUnder direction of the Senior Academic Administrator, liaise with Student Administrative Services to confirm course and room scheduling.
  • Under direction of the Senior Academic Administrator, assist with building the Wisdom Traditions program budgeting process.
  • Under direction of the Senior Academic Administrator, assist with the semester-to-semester hiring process for Adjunct Faculty and other Academic Support positions.
  • Reserve rooms and equipment for events and meetings, as needed.
  • Monitor equipment, facility, technology and maintenance needs, submit work order requests to IT, Facilities, and Business Services, and follow up as necessary.
  • Serve as point of contact for inquiries and requests from the above departments.
  • Logistical support for program intensives including housing, meals, meeting room reservations, facilities work requests, and IT work requests.
  • Assist with on-site administrative needs for retreats, intensives, and events of academic programs during evenings and weekends as required.
  • This assistance includes, but is not limited to, signing in participants, distributing materials, and set up and break down of the event.
  • Acts as the Religious Studies outreach coordinator by arranging for student speakers at local schools, churches and community organizations.
  • Provides administrative support for the instructor of record for 0-credit program requirements.
  • Coordinates Meditation Instructors for students in MA and MDiv programs regarding their availability, communicates MI assignments to students, maintains record of MI assignments, contacts MIs for report at end of semester.
  • Acts as internship coordinator cultivating and maintaining relationships with area hospitals, hospices, prison programs, etc.
  • Assists students in applying to CPE internship and residency programs.
  • Coordinates Departmental events such as Practice Week each semester; Oral Exam at graduation.
  • Maintains library of MA/MDiv projects.
  • Serves on the Lenz Merit Scholarship search committee and supports the annual progress report on current Lenz students.
  • Assists Religious Studies faculty with program assessment.
  • Other duties and support for the Wisdom Traditions Chair as assigned.
  • Required QualificationsMinimum length of prior relevant professional experience required: 2 yearsOther Experience, Knowledge, Skills, or Competencies Requirements?
  • A bachelor's degree in any field.
  • Ability to create and maintain a positive team environment and behave professionally with everyone encountered in the course and scope of the job duties.
  • One-year previous administrative experience.
  • Strong communication skills (oral, written, listening).
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational and problem-solving skills, systems thinking, rigorous attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Able to support events outside of normal working hours when required.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems, such as Canvas or Blackboard.
  • (Or willingness to learn).
  • An understanding of the dynamics of privilege and oppression and the impact these have on equity, access, and opportunity in higher education/the mitment to co-create an inclusive community and actively participate in related professional development, including openness to feedback and on-going self-examination.
