  • JOB SUMMARY Reports to a Director/Manager.
  • Provides personal secretarial services and administrative assistance in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Duties may include typing correspondence, composing letters and memos, setting up and maintaining files and record keeping systems, greeting and directing visitors, answering telephone calls, preparing statistical reports, taking and transcribing dictation and performing other clerical duties.

  • JOB SPECIFICATIONS Education and Experience The knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated below are normally acquired through the successful completion of a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of two to three years of responsible secretarial experience, utilizing knowledge of office procedures, organization and computer skills, is required.
  • Knowledge # Skills Requires well-developed secretarial skills, including keyboarding, transcription and office organization skills; also requires the ability to operate and troubleshoot standard office equipment specific to the department#s needs.
  • Requires advanced computer skills including strong working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets and database applications.
  • Demonstrates the organization and analytical skills necessary to independently prepare semi-complex reports, establish filing systems and assemble reports containing data from several sources.
  • Demonstrates the interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written) necessary to interact with a diverse group of internal and external contacts and visitors.
  • Requires the ability to pay close attention to details, prioritize workload, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrates well-developed telephone skills.
  • Demonstrates the ability to use discretion and independent judgment as appropriate.
  • Working Conditions Works in an office environment.
  • Physical Demands Requires the physical ability and stamina to perform the essential functions of the position.
