- Supplemental Information Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC) seeks to fill the position of Adjunct Instructor (face-to-face, online, dual enrollment) – American Sign Language Studies located in the Division of Liberal Arts. This is a part-time position and is open for recruitment.
- REPORTS TO : Fine Arts and Communication Department Chair LOCATIONS : Mid-City campus and online COMPENSATION: Salary: $2,500 per 3-hour credit course taught Estimated Hours per Week: Fall/Spring/Summer Dates/Times - Day, night and weekend classes; various times available APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS: Applications for this position should include a cover letter, resume/CV, original transcripts, and names of contact information for three (3) work-related references.
- Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS: MINIMUM: Baccalaureate degree in American Sign Language (Linguistics, Sign Language Studies, Sign Language Education, Interpreter Education, Deaf Education) Certified Deaf Interpreter (CDI) or National Interpreter Certification (NIC) credential from Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) or certification from American Sign Language Teachers Association (ASLTA) or any other equivalent certification.
- PREFERRED: Master's degree in American Sign Language (Linguistics, Sign Language Studies, Sign Language Education, Interpreter Education, Deaf Education) At least two years teaching American Sign Language classes at a college or university At least two years of experience as a certified American Sign Language interpreter OR certification from ASLTA or equivalent certification.
