  • Cayuga Counseling Services, Inc. is seeking an Accounting Specialist to join the Agency Accounting Department.
  • Prepares state, federal and county vouchers for submission to funder; continuously compares voucher line items to approved state, federal and county grant and contract budgets to ensure accuracy
  • Utilize accounting software platform to complete accounting functions and various web based platforms to submit vouchers as required
  • Processes invoices, issues payment and reconciles to appropriate account
  • Accurately and efficiently analyzes Accounts Payable invoices for proper general ledger coding
  • Create, maintain and update electronic and paper Accounts Payable records
  • Researches and resolves invoice discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Establishes and maintains vendor relationships with professionalism
  • Acts as back up to other accounting functions including but not limited to Payroll, Accounts Receivable, purchasing, etc.
  • Arranges travel for Agency employees in accordance with applicable funding regulations.
  • Assists with annual Agency financial audits on a quarterly and yearly basis
  • Processes 1099's at year end
  • Creates ad hoc payroll reports as needed
  • Provides confidential internal and external customer service in all matters regarding Accounts Payable, vouchering and travel; collaborates with various programs as needed
  • Perform other duties as needed.
  • Qualified Candidates must have an Associates degree in Accounting preferred and 3+ years of experience preparing and submitting state, federal and county grant and contract vouchers and completing accounts payable duties.
  • Qualified candidates must be a team player focused on exemplary internal and external customer service; be flexible and adapt to changing priorities, delays or unexpected events in the workplace and/or in job responsibilities or expectations; be detail oriented, organized and have strong problem solving and written/oral communication skills; excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office specifically Excel.
  • Experience with Quickbooks is a plus.
  • This position requires confidentiality, professionalism and the ability to complete varied and complicated tasks.
