Beyond the required education and experience instructors must have a passion for what they teach, and have teaching styles that support student success.
Helps study the skills and abilities of each student-athlete on the team and puts them in position to be successful and contributes to the team success.
Instuct student-athletes of fundamental skills, strategies, and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success.
This coach should also have a solid knowledge base when it comes to track and field.
USATF, IAAF, or USTFCCCA coaching certification in one or more of these areas: Jumps, sprints, hurdles, combined-events, strength and conditioning.
- Coaching philosophy consistent and/or complementary to that of the existing Director of Track and Field/Cross Country.
Previous coaching experience, and/or participation, in the sport for which you are applying at the high school level or above, preferred
This is a volunteer position, but a GREAT resumer booster for anyone looking to break into the collegiate track and field coaching niche.

The Event Staff is primarily responsible for the setup, break down and day of event work for major track and field Tournaments.
No prior work experience is necessary, however you do need to be familiar with the throwing events and know how to coach them.
The Graduate Assistant would be directly responsible for the jumping events during practice and competition, under the supervision of the head track coach.

The assistant coach will focus not only on excellence for competitions, but also recognize and emphasize academic excellence in the classroom as well.
Use a variety of instructional techniques and media to meet the needs and improve the abilities of student-athletes in track & field.

Demonstrates an effective understanding of the athletes developmental level and moving athletes to their next level
Preferred requirements include: Previous College Cross Country/Track and Field coaching experience at an institution of higher education is highly preferred.
Provides training rules and any other unique regulations of the sport to each athlete who is considered a participant
