Nurse Anesthetist Job Description
The CRNA works as a member of the patient care team and collaborates with an MDA in the anesthetic care of each and every patient.
The Post Anesthesia Care Unit Nurse should have a thorough knowledge of pain medication and be able to use their own judgment of a patient"s pain.
In this position, you will be responsible for providing anesthesia services to patients who are under the care of a physician, dentist or podiatrist.
Assess the patient�s medical history and how it might affect the patient�s response to anesthesia.
The CRNA must have some basic experience with regional anesthesia as well as upper and lower extremity blocks and ultrasound.
Together with the supervising anesthesiologist administers the anesthetic plan that was determined to be the best plan for the patient s need.
The day to day responsibility of the CRNA for this position will be to perform conscious sedation/MAC anesthesia on outpatient and inpatient cases.
The crna transports patients to and from an anesthetizing location and ensures appropriate care during the postoperative period.
The CRNA cares for patients at all acuity levels across the lifespan for procedures including, but not limited to diagnostic, therapeutic, and pain management.
